"We Are Many! We Are One!"
"We Are Many, We Are One" was the opening song performed by Images '84. The song said a lot for the group, which was composed of sixteen dancers and five combo members ranging from freshmen to seniors. These people were involved in "many" different activities, but the group became "one" when it came to music.
Under the brilliant direction of Miss Lori Woods, the group performed for various occasions. Early in the year, the Images traveled to Cloud Community College for a concert with the Great Society Singers. Other performances included those at the fall concert, for the Optimist Club, and at the Kayette Ma, Pa-n-Me Supper.
At these performances, the Images brought the audiences to life with a variety of songs and featured several solos and duets. Among the songs were such favorites as "Up Where We Belong," "Then Came You," "Roll In My Sweet Baby's Arms," and the group's favorite, "Maybe Someday."
The high point of the Images' year together was the traditional two-day tour. The tour consisted of performances at Horton High School, Perry-Lecompton High School, and Tonganoxie High School, and an overnight stay in Lawrence. The group returned for their annual Images Tour Concert in which the Images presented their entire tour show. This concert ended a year of long, tiring rehearsals, great performances, and good times, but each member will carry with them wonderful memories of this magical, musical family for a long time to come.
