All That Jazz
"One, two, three..." An extraordinary musical production consists of the combination of music, voices, and dance-yet there is more to it. In order to produce this excellent performance, skill, talent, quality leadership, and other important factors must be present.
The Images spent many hours planning for music concerts and events. First this group chose music. They tried many types including jazz, contemporary pop, and Broadway show tunes.
"My favorite song, "Love Changes Everything," is a ballad with great sounding harmony. We put in a lot of time and effort into working on these songs," said Tricia Strathman, jr.
The members of Images then planned the choreography. Instructor Dirk Colgrove picked two students to come up with ideas. After the dance steps were decided, it was time to practice. Images spent many early mornings on Tuesdays and Thursdays practicing. As the concert date was nearer, there were evening rehearsals to practice choreography and polish things. Finally, after much effort and preparation, the Images could perform at their event.
"I learned to be myself in front of an audience. If you think you have talent, you should try it," said Kris Gafford, fr.
