The Universal Language...
Singing, dancing, performing, memorizing, and waking up for those early morning practices are just a few things that any Images member would be familiar with. Images begins at the end of each school year, when tryouts are held for the new Images team. The new members are selected and practice begins shortly after the beginning of the next school year.
Practices this year were typically held every Wednesday at 7:00 a.m. The Images members would wake up, snack on donuts that were usually provided for them, and then they would practice their moves and sounds for the next hour.
"Some mornings when I had to wake up for practice, I wanted to just skip it and sleep in. But I knew it was a sacrifice I had to make in order to do our best," said Amanda, fr.
The first concert held by the Images was on December 21, 2000. The concert had a winter and Christmas theme. The members sang many different songs including "Children of the Light" and "A Christmas Medley."
After their winter concert, the Images went on their traditional tour on May 7, 2001. The tour allowed the singing team to travel throughout to city and perform at different places like Crestview Nursing Home. Nemaha Valley Junior High and Saints Peter and Paul Junior High. That night, the Images would finish up the tour with their spring concert. The concert contained spring based songs and the senior Images sang a song dedicated to their class titled "I Will Remember You."
"After being in Images for four years, it was a really emotional time when we sang "I Will Remember You." Images is something that I will never forget, especially the members," said Katie, sr.
Each 2000-2001 Images member will have district memories of bringing songs to life with their talented voices, actions, and unique personalities. Throughout the year, each participant learned different lessons and gained new experiences by bringing together the universal language and sharing it by putting on fantastic performances.
