When going to football and basketball games, there are many who give the team support. The fans and cheerleaders are always ready to cheer and support the Raiders , but much of the support is given by the band.
Beginning with the varsity boys' games, the band played "The Star Spangled Banner" as all who were present turned towards the U.S. flag. Then, the cheerleaders began their routine, and the crowd enthusiastcally clapped with the beat of the school's fight song. The band continued to contrubute to the spirit thoughout the game.
"I think that the band's music is important to support our team," said Monica Haug, fr.
When half-time approached, the band entertained the crowd. Favorite songs included, "Wipe Out", "Louie Louie", "Purple People Eater", and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles".
"The band keeps the crowd from getting bured during halftime", said Brent Strathman jr.
Encouraging the team is an important part of the game. With the combination of devotion and spirit, the band has contributed their support.
