The Language of Music Music is everywhere, concerts, elevators, school, and work, are just a few of the places one hears this universal language. Here, at Nemaha Valley, it is no exception. Inspirational and upbeat notes can be heard at the annual Christmas concert. Although the band has suffered in numbers the last few years it has not suffered in talent. At regionals this year Frankie, soph., and Sarah, jr., received a I rating with the clarinet, Amanda, jr., received a II rating with her also sax, and Amber, soph., Amber, fr., Tara, soph,. and Darcee, soph., all received a II rating with their flute pieces. Sarah and Frankie were then allowed to advance and perform at the state level. “Band is exciting and fun because it is a class where I can perform my talent and have a great time with my friends at the same time,” Amber, soph., said. Although there was not a vocal class this year the NV pep band had no trouble filling the void and enriching the Nemaha Valley atmosphere with the wonderful sound of music. --Julie |
