Hitting the Right Pitch

Concert Choir has long been a strong point in our school's curriculum. The past groups have had good reputations because they often traveled to state and performed enjoyable concerts. Last year's concert choir had some fine talent coming back from the previous year, when the choir went to state, and they made up the "heart and soul" of the assembly.
Even though the choir did not return to state, there were a few reasons that could be attributed. The seven-hour day only allowed pratice time to be around 15 minutes a day, compared to the hour of practice in the previous year. There were, however, several solos and small groups that attended state and came home with respectable ratings, and the choir kept up their string of commendable outings. So while the singers did not make it back to state, this year can hardly be called a "a bad pitch."
