The Sound of Harmony

"This year I feel like choir is really rewarding with all we have been doing," Wendy Lierz, soph., said.
The choir decided to help out with the musical that was put on. They spent time working on the musical that would normally be spent on their songs for concerts. They joined with the Images for the chorus parts which helped to enhance the sound. They also used some of their free time to make props for the stage.
On the days that the choir was not busy with the musical, teacher Dirk Colgrove made exercises for the choir members' vocal chords. They sang numbers that were on the chalk board. The numbers were used to make the different parts of the choir stand out. Each member knew whether they were a bass, tenor, alto, or soprano. All the parts were joined together to learn harmonies and melodies.
After warming up their voices, the choir members sang their selected songs. They practiced these songs to perform at the winter and spring concerts.
"Choir is definitely one of my favorite classes. I look forward to it the most every day," Beth, jr., said.
