It is pretty normal for actors and actresses to be nervous before the opening night of a production, but this year their jitters may have been outdone by the director. Marsha, Speech and Drama teacher, got her feet wet when her first play direction of two christmas stories, "That's What I Want For Christmas," by Anne Coulter Martens, and "Midnight Clear," by Dorothy C. Allan.

Asked what helped form her decision for putting on the two plays, Miss Kentopp remarked, "They both had a special Christmas message in the. Both had similar relationships, while "Midnight Clear," was more serious, and "That's All I Want For Christmas," was on the lighthearted side."

"I thought both plays were good experience for everyone involved," continued Miss Kentopp. "Most of the crew had stage jobs as costumes, makeup, and speech classes, but we did receive some great outside help."

Miss Kentopp, although she considered the night a success, said there were some definite needs for improvement. "There were so many things that I would do differently the second time. Everything wasn't perfect, but I though it came off very well," she finished.
