The directors of the play, Stan and Cindy, decided to take a new approach with the play this year. It wasn't one of the famous plays like Of Mice and Men, Hello Dolly, or Oklahoma, it was a different type of play. It was called Headin' For A Weddin'. It involved a hill-billy family that lived in the country away from civilization It tells a story about a young lad trying to impress a big city girl.
The cast of the play was chosen by the directors. They had students sign up if they would like to be involved in the play and they chose which ones did the best at try-outs. Many people rehearsed to make it into the play, but many do not make speaking parts, but since the play is such a huge task, many students get involved with things other than acting.
"Stan and Cindy have exhibited their influence of their love for drama and have Nemaha Valley's play to higher level," Terry, secretary, said.
"I feel the plays have taken a new feel, they seem to be funnier and seem to relate to the high school audience more. I think that is why the response has been so much better recently," Kurt, jr., said.
