With their hearts beating fast, Maggie, sr., Melissa, sr., Charlie, soph., and Brie, sr., perform in front of a large audience.
Hailey, fr., and Frankie, soph., wait to compete in the upcoming round.

There has always been that fear of being on stage in front of an audience. All a person has to do is picture the audience in their underwear, right? Wrong. It takes talent. Not any ordinary person can entertain an audience. The ability to act is a talent that comes from within the person.

This year, the cast of the play "Chateau la Roach" definitely had talent. They made the audience laugh until they cried. A play about roaches growing over six feet tall and taking over a hotel may seem humorous already, but mixed with the acting abilities of the cast, and the help of crew, it was a smash hit.

Waking up at five in the morning to get to a forensics meet doesn't sound all that great, but it is all worth it in the end. Forensics teaches a person not to be afraid of acting in front of people. It makes a person open up. Also, it gives students the ability to be more sociable. The forensics team had a great year. Many first places were won, and at state forensics, the team placed ninth out of forty teams. Cathy, the forensics team coach, really pushed her team to do well. Many practices were held, and critiquing her team members was a big help also.

For students that participate in forensics and drama, there are definitely no butterflies in their stomachs before they walk onto the stage to entertain a crowd. They just act and have fun with their great talents and skills.
