1970 Kayettes and KAY's |
1970 Kayettes MembersThe Kayettes endeavored to serve thier school and community to the fullest in the past school years. They were judged for points on their projects and the participation of the members. On each major holiday, the Kayettes planned the school Thanksgiving program. A Christmas program, complete with skits, was also arranged by the Kayettes. The Kayettes again had Sister Sweetheart's during Valentines week. Three projects undertaken by the Kayettes throughout the 1969-1970 year were Meals for Millions, Crop, and collecting used eye-glasses for the needy.

With a new school inspiration, this club for boys was established at Nemaha Valley High School. Throughout the year, the boys worked on many activities. At the Christmas program, two Kay members put on an original and amusing skit. Also Christmas gift trays were taken to Crestview Manor. As a community service, they boys held a babysitting day during the Christmas season. Kays held on money-making project- a Chili Supper. In addition, Kays helped with homecoming activities and collection for Crop. For thier first year, Kays achieved success and will hopefully continue with more members next year. Special appreciation must be given to Mr. Wilcoxon, Kay sponsor, who helped organize the club. |
