A Key To A Better World

Student Council was busy early in the year as the officers went to camp at Emporia State University. They came back with many new ideas and were busy throughout the year. Their first activity was that they made survival kits for the staff. Soon, Homecoming rolled around, and Student Council was running around trying to get things organized. In October, several members attended the regional conference at Concordia. The teachers received a plate of candy for Christmas in appreciation for all the hard work they had done. On January 29, Kansas' 125th birthday, each second hour class participated in a Kansas Trivia Contest. The winners were Mr. Terpening's class, which each student received a candy bar and a bottle of pop. The club sponsored a "NV Cupid Day" on Valentine's Day. Five people in the building were cupids. Any student asking if they were the "NV Cupid," received a prize. Student Council sponsored many more activities, such as guest speakers and dances.
The club became active and had a successful year.
