StuCo Leading
The Way
Many
ideas and a lot of hard work was the foundation beneath the accomplishments
that were built by the student council throughout the year.
The first responsibility was getting ready for homecoming. Stuco planned
and prepared to make homecoming 1987, a memorable experience for Nemaha
Valley.
Another task taken on by the group was sponsoring a leadership workshop
at the Community Building, with Keith Akins, administative assistant
for KSHSAA, being the speaker. The workshop involved some students from
NV as well as some guests from other school's stuco members. It was
fun and helpful in learning to utilize leadership abilities.
The establishment of a SADD chapter in the school was a result of student
council decisions that it would be useful and worth promoting throughout
the school.
Other things student council did include sponsoring an adopted family
at Christmas, giving away prizes at Christmas, and deciding issues within
the school. These accomplishments were worthwhile, and made this year
a very successful one.
