Serving Students

An organization that represents the entire student body needs to have countless ideas and plenty of activities for the students. The StuCo had a multitude of these and more. The Student Council made more money this year than any other previous year.
Some activities that contributed to all of this money was the annual Homecoming dance. The StuCo set up all of the games that the candidates played all week long. The organization also had movies for the student body to watch on the last day before Christmas vacation. Students could leave school early if they paid five dollars instead of watching the movie. StuCo donated this money, which accumulated to $500, to NEKAP.
"This is the most money that StuCo has ever made and the busiest we've been since I have been in StuCo. We do a lot for the school," Brandon Nordhus, sr., said.
StuCo had plenty of fun activities as well. They had guest speaker Earl Reum tell the student body about leadership while doing fascinating magic tricks. For no reason at all, StuCo treated the students with ice cream sundaes at the beginning of the year. Student Council got into the Christmas spirit by running the 12 days of Christmas which gave a prize to one student a day leading up to Christmas break. A major change that StuCo accomplished was changing its constitution.
"I'm glad we made some changes in the Constitution. StuCo was busy all year long doing fun activities for the students," Christy Riley, jr., said.
