Girl's Race 2 Miles.
Boy's did not compete as a team.
Experience. That is the best word to use to describe this year's cross country team. All of the runners, with the exception of Carrie Clark, fr., had at least one year's experience. "It helped the girls a lot since they could compete as a team. Almost all of them knew what to expect going into a meet," said Chris Koehler, sr.
Although experience helped both teams, injuries slowed the girls while the lack of runners ended the boys' chance of running as a team. The competition also caused problems for both teams this year. "Cassie Clark ran .21 seconds faster at the state meet this year and placed seventh compared to second last year," said Coach Buetzer.
While they experienced a few letdowns, the cross country teams experienced much success. The girls qualified their team by placing second at Regionals and on the other end, Koehler qualified for the boys. Even though the boys' team for next year is still a question mark, the girls have the potential to be better. - Jason
