It was a season of achievements and disappointments for the cross coutnry team. Fortunantely for the girls, enough people turned out to make a team. The boys were less fortunate, though. First of all, only three boys were involved in cross country; five are required for a team. Then, injuries occurred during the season. Both had beginning runners with little experience. Nevertheless, everyone worked hard and put in a lot of extra effort.

Even though there were a few obstacles on the way, the runners ended the season in top shape. The girls placed second at Regionals and eventually made it to their main goal, State. It took a lot of hard work for each runner to succeed.

"I learned right away that you must try your hardest and begin your races fast," said Crissy, fr.

Heinen had an excellent season, medaling first at Regionals and thirteenth at State. Faye , jr., also ran well, placing in the top ten at Regionals. All the members worked hard to make the team as successful as possible.

Eric Strathman, sr., started the season with an injury, but didn't give up. He worked hard in the practices and came back in better shape than ever. This ended up as Eric's best season.

"Cross Country takes a lot of endurance, you can't just go out there and sprint," said Strathman.

With more experience and much effort, the cross country team should have an extremely promising season next year. - Darcee
