The long runs, the aches and pains, and the rough terrain; all obstacles the 2002 Cross Country team were faced with throughout the season.

The season started off on a good note at the Marysville Invitational, with the boys placing 2nd and the girls placing 3rd. From there, the team continued to work hard to improve their times. The boys finally claimed their first gold medals at the NV Invitational, while the girls finished well individually.

"It has been a successful season. I have been satisfied with what we have accomplished. I was also pleased with the number of kids we had out." Coach Jon Thomas said.

The final leg for some team members was regionals at Sabetha where Colin Olberding and Nicole Kramer qualified for state. The season ended with Nicole finishing 13th at state.

The hard work of the team paid off with more than just medals, but pride from every team member.
