Driving past his defender is Doug. Miller was named to the Big 7 All-League team.

Being on the losing side supposedly builds a person's character, but losing is not always easy to swallow. A determined group of young men, under the leadership of a new coach, Steve, took it upon their shoulders to re-establish a winning basketball tradition.

The team started the season promising by winning two out of three in the Kaw Valley Classic. The Raiders displayed the rugged style of defense which would be instrumental in many of their victories.

As the Big 7 League play began, things looked bleak as the team lost their first three league games. From there, the season took a tremendous swing upward as the group compiled a six-game winning streak, capped by a thrilling 59-54 win over Jackson Heights in the championship of the Raider Classic.

The team ended league play on a positive note before preparing for sub-state play. The Raiders posted an exhausting victory over Smokey Valley before meeting first-seeded Belleville. In a hard-fought battle, the team gave Belleville all it could handle before faltering in the waning minutes.
