To any team, a season like the Raiders' would have been an accomplishment. Even though the Raiders didn't make it to the state tournament, they still had a very productive season. From early on, many counted the Raiders out, but they were proven wrong.
The Raiders began the season with high hopes, even though they had only one returning starter and a handful of players with no varsity experience. Also helping the team was a strong bench. Coach Thomas looked to the bench for strong play and valuable minutes to give the starters a breather. However, this didn't hold them back from accomplishing a 17-5 record.
The Raider season ended abruptly in the sub-state tourney, where they were defeated in the last seconds by Rossville, ending their road to state. Even though the team lost, they had something to be very proud of. They defied the odds that were placed on them early in the season and played better than anyone had thought they would.
