In 1986 in memory of Darren Miller, the boys' basketball teams, including grades nine through twelve, took a collection of money and bought a plaque. The plaque was called the Darren Miller Memorial Inspirational Award. The award is presented every year to the basketball player who is voted as being the most inspirational.
