The team ended practice everyday with the saying, "Working everyday to be the best in 3A." And that's exactly what the NV Lady Raiders did. They proved to be the best girls' team in 3A. They also took 3rd place in the Hiawatha Invitational Tournament, and were named the Big 7 League Champs for 2002-2003.
Working hard on both sides of the court the team proved to be an advantage when entering the Championship game in Hutchinson. The team was lead by eight seniors who were out all four years of high school.
"I thought we really didn't have one or two leaders, they all led during different parts of the season," Coach Terpening said.
Spending all winter long together, they got to know each other very well.
"Our teams strongest point was probably how we all got along so well and our team unity," Kelsey, sr., said.
