The Raider golf team captured the Class 3A State Championship title a second year in a row. Coach Hynek said, "We are the first team in Nemaha Valley history to win two state titles back to back." The team left Saturday, May 31, and traveled to Hesston as they prepared for state golf on Monday, June 2. The team competed against 12 teams on Monday. The Raiders shot a 318, beating Hesston with a 319. There were six players and taking the four best scores to come up with the total points. The golfers did very well. Mark Sample shot a 78, Steve Robke a 79, Bryan Hyde a 79, Bob Robke an 82, Ron Murphy an 85, and Brett Hyde a 90. There were ten medals given away and three of the six players on the Raider team received them. Mark Sample was the 5th place medalist, Steve Robke was the 9th place medalist, and Bryan Hyde was the 10th place medalist.
