Three seniors anchored a very successful golf season. Steve Robke, Judd O'Connor, and Andy Sample returned to their starting places. The other three varsity places changed often throughout the year. However, Jason Henry, fr., Mike O'Keefe, jr., and Tim Lauer, sr., finished off the lineup. Three first place finishes at the begginning of the season put NV at the top of the Big 7 league. However, at a triangular meet, Maur Hill took first place honors on their home course. At the biggest tourney of the year, the St. Mary's invitational, NV was second only to St. Mary's, who later took first in the state. Two more top finishes ended out the reuglar season. At the Big 7 league tourney, NV finished second place. The big meet was regionals. The varsity starters proved their stuff and walked away with top honors. The 3A state championship tourney was the Raiders' final challenge. A tough course and some high scores kept NV out of the running. However, Robke tied for fourth place in individual scoring. "I feel we did as well as we could," said Coach Rick Hynek.
