Nemaha Valley High School
1999
For many people golf is just something to do to kick back and have some fum. Well, for the Nemaha Valley Golf team, it was all that and more, They went out in 1999 looking to do more than just have fun, they went out to win. Golf wasn't a time to mess around for the team. It took their time and determination to be the best they could be for the upcoming golf schedule. "I enjoyed golf because it was actuallly a sport where freshmen could compete agianst upper-classman. It was also a time to go out and just have fun," Anthony Schulte, fr., said. Golfers had to qualify against their own team members to see who would make the meets. After qualifying, the team was divided into varsity and junior varsity. Each team had their own meets to go to and hopefully win. This year's team didn't have the end result it had hoped for. Only one member, Chad Baker, placed 23rd at state golf. Even though more didn't make it to state, to most, the season was still a success.

Chad Baker, soph., eyes the ball as he prepares to tee off. For most holes, a good tee shot proved to be the determining factor of how the hole played out. |
