The Right Course

What do you think about the sport of golf? Many people think that this sport is just something that people play for relaxation, but the Nemaha Valley golf team plays it for thrills and the excitement. Everyday the members of the golf team could've seen out on the golf course. Whether they were perfecting their putting on the green or mastering their play in the fairway, the hard working team did not take the sport lightly.

“State was very fun and although we lost some key seniors we should have some underclassman to step up and make the state tournament in the future,” Chad Baker, jr., said.

Although the Nemaha Valley team didn’t make state competition as a team they did have two members qualify for the state tournament. They were Chad Baker and Dustin Niehues. Chad finished with a 74 and received a tenth place medal at the state tournament in Great Bend. Their expectations of this year’s team were very high and although they did not make it to state, they still had the desire and ability of champions. The underclassmen are looking forward to next season. With four returning lettermen they will have the experience to excel in many areas of their game.

“This year’s golf season was a fun and competitive one. We will be looking forward to the returning experience to the team next year,” Joe Harris, soph., said.
