At the state meet, the girls' track team racked up 19 points. The highlight was the 4X100 relay which finished second. Other places were Becky, sixth, discus; Carolyn O'Keefe, sixth, mile; Amy, fourth, 300 int. hurdles; Kelly, fourth, 800; and the 4X400 relay team finished sixth. While the girls were on top, the boys track team loomed around the bottom for the most of the year. A shortage of athletes was the biggest reason for the lack of success. There were a few bright spots during the year, though. Wayne, sr, came back from an ailing hip to help the 4X100 relay team place second at reagionals before being disqualified at state.
